About

Melissa Veerasammy
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I step into the therapeutic space as a woman of colour and a psychotherapist. I have witnessed how as humans we exist within systems which shape our experiences and lives. Understanding this, I am dedicated to practicing with a trauma-informed, intersectional, and anti-oppressive approach in sessions.

My approach is characterized by a gentle and creative method that encourages exploration, offers support, and nurtures fresh perspectives during our sessions. My professional journey spans more than a decade, during which I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various therapeutic settings.

I extend an open invitation to folks of all ages and backgrounds to connect with me to explore whether I would be a good fit in their healing journey. You don't need any prior experience in art to engage in art therapy sessions. Art making can be weaved into sessions while traditional talk therapy sessions are always welcomed.
